At Lindfield we provide a well-prepared environment. Each day the teachers ensure the classroom is aesthetically pleasing prior to the children arriving. Respect for the environment is consistently role modelled by the teachers and, as a result, is reflected through the actions of the children. The materials are natural, developmentally appropriate and all involve a direct and indirect purpose. The materials are enticing, capturing and maintaining the child’s interest. During the morning work cycle the children are invited to venture outdoors to engage in activities. They are able to take a ‘break’ from intense concentration and free their mind through practical life experiences such as window washing or gardening.
Our outdoor environment is thriving - we have large trees and an abundance of space. The daily outdoor set up is planned to encourage gross motor activity, exploration of the natural environment, and a place for movement and games.
